Main Hall Floor Replacement
The main hall floor replacement has received £31,786.69 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, and £5,000 from the Bernard Sunley Foundation.

UPDATE 12.8.24

The Village all main hall floor has been fully replaced and the hall is now available to hire. The main hall has a fully sprung oak floor and looks absolutely stunning. Take a look at the gallery below for the photographs taken during the project. Forgive us, we have had to focus on the floor replacement project , but now we will be able to bring so much more to the website and to the running of the hall.

On August 10th 2023, the management committee made the decision to close the hall with immediate effect because of a report on the hall floor, condemning it as unsafe to use. The committee had already been working on plans to replace the floor, including years of fund-raising. The report came as part of a quote that was needed to apply for a grant, and has meant that the issue became urgent. We are working around the clock to get the hall floor replaced. Here you will find updates on our project, keeping our community in touch with our plans, progress with funding applications and with the actual building works as they happen.

In the meant time, if you wish to donate to help with funding, please click on the box on the top right of our web pages, and donate through our Just Giving page.

Thank you.
